Steve Herndon: At first Steve will seem on the ball. Then you will spend the first 20min of every session listening to random stories of himself and how long he has been in practice. He'll use the white board to draw the same timeline and explanation of the judiciary system, regularly.
At a hearing : Steve showed up hung over from a Halloween party the night before. He assured me that wasn't normal and wouldn't happen again. Trial time: good news, Steve wasn’t hung over. Bad news, Steve decided the court room was the best place to tag and mark his exhibits. We all waited and watched, including the judge. He simply forgot to argue three of the cases I had filed; of course the judge threw them out. He told things to the judge which were untrue and caused the judge to take it out on me. When I logically decided to switch attorneys after this mess, Herndon somehow "lost" my documents and couldn't return all of them. (fortunately I later found my copies).
As if that were not enough, after the trial Steve told me, as a woman, to just "go with the flow and stop trying to swim upstream," and "you got yourself in this mess by having sex in the first place." And, "you'll just remarry someone else rich." ...basically, turn a blind eye and let your ex get away with not following the decree you both spent 9 months and $40K establishing.
Pros: very friendly and easily likable.
Cons: doesn’t use his charm in the court room and not interested in ethically representing women... but he'll gladly take your money, then cast stones at you.
I’m leaving this review to help inform other women out there to not waste your money, time, and energy here. My strong suggestion is use Cathy Naugle at this office (do not let the receptionists talk you into meeting with Steve over Cathy), or keep looking.
