Dmitri and Sandra Photography

When considering Hawaii-based wedding photographers, we decided to go with Dmitri and Sandra Photography because we loved their photography style: natural, airy, and sophisticated. And they totally delivered for our intimate wedding mini-mony + portrait session in September. Dmitri shot our wedding photos and he was professional, laid back, and helpful with directing our poses to make them natural. We loved the results and are so thankful to have these beautiful photos to remember our wedding day. I’d recommend Dmitri & Sandra Photography to anyone in a heartbeat!

Dmitri & Sandra (D&S) were on the list of recommended photographers our wedding planner, and I was amazed when I saw their portfolio online. Their style is distinct - timeless, beautiful, and romantic. When I first spoke to Sandra on the phone, I liked how she was familiar with the property at which we were getting married (they had done photos at Lana'i Four Seasons before) and she was also confident in when and where to take photos to get the best lighting - this differed from another photographer, who said 'we'll do whatever you want to do'; when walking through our initial vision, Sandra made suggestions on when the lighting would be best for the locations at which we wanted to shoot, which turned out to be true / wise decisions. Sandra was in touch to coordinate the photo package and was flexible in adjusting the package for our changing needs, as well as accommodating one date change and a COVID-related difficulty in terms of transportation between islands (they commuted from Maui to Lana'i but the ferry schedule changed). One of the best decisions we made was hiring both Sandra and Dmitri as a package deal, for a couple of reasons. First, Sandra was really helpful on the day of in coming up with great ideas on where to take photos as we moved around the property - taking 'first look' photos outside our hotel rooms at Four Seasons Lanai Manele (the beach resort), and then offsite at Sweetheart Rock, a scenic rocky/beach area; lastly at sunset on the FS Lanai golf course. We had a nice variety of backgrounds because of her contributions to the vision. Second, they were really adorable to work with and could demonstrate couples poses (e.g. where the man dips the woman) for us. The photos took a little over a month to process and when we received them, they were beautiful (high quality, well composed, vibrant, and captured the emotions of the day) when we got them. It was hard to choose only 10 to post to Instagram (to a multi-pic post) as there were so many nice ones and such a variety of poses, expressions, scenery, etc. I also enjoyed both Dmitri and Sandra's high energy and positivity during the day - they always said we were doing great, so it wasn't as stressful or tedious as I thought it might be - it just felt like quality time with my other half, posing, gazing, laughing, walking, etc. D&S also worked well with our photographers from Oahu, who they hadn't met before, and with our wedding planner, whom they had known for years, so it was a good positive atmosphere. Even though I had originally been skeptical as to how unique our wedding photos would really look (e.g. would our photos just look the same as the other wedding photos they had already taken, but just with us in it instead?) and if it would really be worth the price, but after getting the finished product, I can definitely say that they are worth it, are unique to our wedding day, and we will treasure them forever! From the beginning when I checked out their website and fell in love with their photography style to getting my own wedding photos back from them and loving them, it was a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend!

Dmitri and Sandra are genuinely great people and amazing at what they do. We've used them multiple times, including our engagement, wedding and family vacations. The photoshoots are easy and the pictures are beautiful. Highly recommend!

We hit the jackpot with Dmitri and Sandra! They were super easy to work with and we’re able to connect remotely to set up our day of timeline. The offered advice on where we could sneak away for a quick bride/groom session and which time was best for lighting which ended up being some of my favorite pics! They helped us to pose naturally and we’re accommodating to all of our friends and family pictures. We’re blessed to have these amazing images to remember our wedding day forever. -Whitney & Gary

Fantastic overall experience! Communication with Sandra was great. Our conversations with her were very pleasant and natural. Email communication were quick and responsive. Dmitri was very professional. The photoshoot was really fun and relaxing. His instructions were easy to follow. The quality of the photos came out amazing. Also, one thing that we really appreciate with Dmitri and Sandra was their understanding and empathy with their clients during the pandemic. Last year, we booked them for our wedding before the pandemic. Once we all realized that it was not gonna happen, they fully refunded us right away. So it was no question that once we were able to travel to Maui a year later, we went straight back to them. Two very happy clients here. Highly recommended!
