Nice secluded resort! Friendly staff and a nice property. There are nearby services, and it is less than 30 minutes to Honolulu. The parking can be tricky, but we always had a place to park.

You can check my reviews, I NEVER leave bad reviews but this one deserves it. Long story short, maybe they have some rooms that look like what is shown on their website but the two we were stuck in were pretty much dorm rooms. The resort is sandwiched in a residential area. The furniture in the room IS patio furniture. The decor is cheap and average. The rooms DO indeed have roaches, I can confirm this. We saw 3 within 5 minutes. The front desk staff was accommodating and took our leaving in stride so I'll give a star for that but they took the pay for 3 nights when we stayed for a few hours. Folks, just be weary when booking this.

I liked being here. There are things to complain about, if you are the complaining type. I kept stubbing my foot on the doorsills between the rooms, for instance. But eventually I learned to step over them. The rooms vary in accessibility, and ours had a lot of stairs, down and up. But we managed, and in future should we return to the island we will ask for a room with fewer stairs. The walls and ceilings are thin, and there are a lot of kids, noisy happy kids, here. I found it entertaining, tbh. The kitchen was extremely tiny, just enough room for one person at a time. I liked that, too. Induction plate was fun to use! We ate well, because we brought our own food. Nearest Safeway is a 17 minute bus ride away. Buses come every half hour and the stop is a ten minute walk from the resort, so you may prefer to rent a car. Parking would be $15/day though. We found the bus worked fine. The neighborhood is charming but a bit seedy. Very real, shall we say. Twenty minute walk to the boat ramp where our friend could pick us up (wasn't allowed to use the resort boat ramp, likely for insurance reasons). The resort itself was compact but comfortable. And the location has fabulous views. The hot tub was excellently hot. Would definitely stay again.

Rooms were okay. But the TV was unresponsive to the remote. The lamp in the bedroom had a chord that didn't reach to any outlet from the table so I had to put the lamp on the floor for it to reach. The fitness center was quite small and had some missing dumbbells. The treadmill would bend in the middle when I tried it. The pool tasted like straight when it got into my mouth and it turned my vision temporarily blurry bc of the chemicals. Had a good view from the hotel room though. I would like to add that on the very last day of my stay, I had came across a lady who worked at the baseball field and basketball court area just down the road from the resort. And I had an inertaction with her that made my 2.5 star experience turn into a 5 star experience. I would go down to the baseball field to pitch and she would always have the nicest things to say. But on the very last day, the same lady came up to me and asked me to sign her tennis ball for her. She said over and over again that she believed very strongly that I would be someone some day. I haven't had any experiences with someone believing in me like that ever. And I truly appreciate her believing in me and wanting my autograph. Even though I'm a teen, she saw the potential in me which made my whole year. I am truly upset that it was the last day and I was leaving. If I could I would tell her thank you for believing in me. Nearby activities: Pretty good things to do near by. Baseball field, mini golf, zipline, and more. Safety: The rail for one of the stairs cases was wobbling and felt like it was going to fall at any moment Food & drinks: The food near by was pretty good. Wide variety.
