A very disappointing experience with Dr Uchida and, most significantly, his billing practices. Regarding Dr Uchida, he was rude, condescending and malicious if questioned or challenged about his billing practices. Regarding his billing practices, he refused to adhere to dental insurance company rules by charging the entire amount (insurance payment and my payment) up front. Then, he would withhold refunding my portion until the insurance company payment arrived in full. Further, because he already had the full payment, he would delay filing claims for months approaching a year. In short, there was no incentive for him to file claims, so he didn’t until I lodged formal complaints with the insurance company, his billing manager (who happens to be his wife) and Dr Uchida. Last, Dr Uchida’s facility is a disgrace. Dental chairs and equipment are broken, counters are dirty and crowded with files, dirty food dishes and dental tools. The place strikes me as very unsanitary. Go to Dr UCHIDA at your own risk.
