Camelot Kona Fishing Charters

My boy had a great 12th birthday on the Camelot! As did the big kids! Captain Lyle and Ryan were fun to be around and coached/encouraged my son when he landed a 6 foot, 150lb blue marlin. Lifetime memories off the Kona coast. Mahalo!

Awesome day on the water Dec 10th with the crew of the Camlot!! James (aka “the chef”) and Lyle were great hosts. Brought in ten fish; nothing large but still a lot of fun as everyone got in the action. The Chef surprised us with a little appetizer while teaching us rookies fishing technics. Lyle kept the boat in the right places and taught us a little about local culture and local waters. We will definitely see them again on our next trip to the Big Island. Mike

Definitely a bucket list kind of sport fishing experience! Captain Robert and crew, James and Ryan we’re caring and sharing to the max. From the beautiful sunrise to the deep blue ocean experience, we had a day to remember forever. The Kona Coast is First class sport fishing spot in the world and these folks on the CAMELOT shared so generously, we will definitely do it again. Highly recommend!!! Five stars!!!!!

Great crew as always, the crew was very professional and informative! I caught my first Wahoo and they filleted it (delicious!!!). I always use them when on the Big Island. Next trip on Monday, looking forward to it already!!!!

I cannot say enough nice things about Lyle and James! If we come back, I’ll request them for sure because of how great they were. We had about a 2 hour trip out to a certain spot. During that time they have some lines behind the boat to catch specific fish. They were so detailed about everything and answered our millions of questions. It’s a long trip, so it was great to talk to them about everything from the fish, to their lives, to whatever. They were so personable and down to earth. In addition, James made an amazing sashimi plate with shoyu and roasted garlic that we couldn’t get enough of. Once we were out at their spot, we started fishing for some live bait and fish. Didn’t catch any big ones, but we came away with about 8 yellowfin tuna and 2 arctic bonitos. They did a lot of the casting and were so informative about everything. Once we got the hang of it, they were a bit more hands off. We had to wrap up a bit early because we had a seasick passenger on board, and they were understanding and helpful (as well as funny calling him Ralph and Chuck). On the way back to shore, James gutted and filleted the fish showing me how to do it and giving me amazing ideas for how to prep it. He was just a plethora of knowledge, and it was so refreshing. We kept most of what we caught, and they kept some as well. Managed to make some amazing dishes using his suggestions including blackened, sashimi, poke, nuggets, and bacon wrapped. I was thrilled with the experience and can’t wait to come back…minus one. Make sure you take your Dramamine the night before and an hour before if you get seasick. He was miserable the whole time and you don’t want that.
