The St. Laurent School of Dance

Madame St. Laurent is a jewel. My daughter began tap/ballet under this accoladed teacher’s guidance at the age of three. Madame bolstered my daughter’s expanding toddler confidence and encouraged her to actualize independence. She accomplishes so much in her students through her amazing gift of teaching - she remains firm yet humorous and kind. Highly recommend this studio for toddlers or youth interested in the art of dance. My daughter loves and excels in an area she loves as was nurtured by this studio.

I truly appreciate the efforts that Madame and the other teachers have made to accommodate our classes during this stay at home period. She was one of the first teachers to reach out and schedule make up classes with the students. Her enthusiasm and dedication to her craft make her exceptional. Having ballet classes (even at home) make such a difference in the lives of our daughter as it provides wonderful structure and education during this challenging time.

Best dance school in Honolulu. My two boys have been here since they were 3 years old and now they are 11 and 9. Their instruction of ballet, tap, jazz and street jazz is superior. There is much nurturing of these students in addition to dance instruction. If you are looking for Hawaii’s premier studio, look no further.

Madame is very nurturing yet firm and ensures that the children learn the fundamentals and skills. So many dance studios do not teach the fundamentals, just want to have as many children as possible for economical reasons, so even if the children dance for years, they do not really learn the basic skills. St. Laurent works with the whole child and whether they are serious dancers, who will move onto Universities majoring in dance, or just to learn dance for them to have a hobby, the children learn the disciplines, skills, and the responsibilities of how to become a warm, disciplined, and a responsible person. It is a very professional environment, again, very good for young girls (& boys) who learn what it means to become a professional - while having lots of fun. In addition, the classes are small, so all dancers get very individualized attention. My daughter has matured and has become a very respectful yet still a playful girl! I highly recommend it - and I am a very tough critic!
