Between my mother and my mother-in-law, I've dealt with several home health and hospice groups. None are perfect and some I've let go of due to them not meeting our needs. But this was the ONLY one that was so inefficient for our needs that I felt like I should review. They did not communicate well at all with us.  They will show up unannounced. They would repeatedly schedule times to see us before 10:30 am despite me telling them repeatedly my mil was still asleep at that time. One particular week I let them know I had to have nursing. On Friday morning, a last minute dr appt was scheduled for my eye infection. I contacted the hospice office and told them I had to go to the eye dr but needed a nurse to come out. It was my second request for a nurse that week. The nurse arrived before I got home from the doctor, refused to wait 15 mins for me to get home, and refused to come back that week, despite me telling them I had to have a nurse that week and despite them advertising 24/7 care. We ended up at the ER the next day for a situation that would have been avoided had they come out that week like I informed them I needed. It wasn't the first time I had similar issues with them. They also told me on the initial interview that we could continue physical therapy then canceled our physical therapy the next day. I don't recommend them.

My uncle has been with professional hospice for a little over a year now, and I could not be happier! Leeann is so sweet and great at communicating any change that goes on. I am so happy to have them during these times.

Had traumatizing experience with this company.  My mom required hospice care and this company was recommended by the assisted care facility she was situated.  It was a painful process to place my mother in hospice and a difficult decision which she ultimately agreed upon.  Our number one goal was for her comfort level in this transition of care.  Unfortunately, the ball was dropped on several occasions pertaining to the accomplishment of this goal.  An "emergency kit" that she was to receive never arrived to the facility prior to her passing away.  This kit apparently contained additional medicines which could be administered for pain and anxiety management which her scheduled dosages could not.  My brother and his wife witnessed her initial experience of having severe pain and anxiety which her scheduled medications could not alleviate.  They called the hospice nurse Hetty who had performed her admission assessment and expressed their concerns.  Hetty informed that the "emergency kit" was in transit via FedEx.  The following day I visited my mom in the morning and she was resting.  I assumed that the kit had arrived based on what I observed.  My brother wanted me to follow up and make sure that they had this kit if needed.  On inquiry I found that it was still not at the facility and I contacted Hetty.  She told me that it was in transit and should be there latter in the day.  Unfortunately, my mom had another terrible episode of pain and anxiety in the early part of the evening and had no other additional medications to alleviate those symptoms.  My brother, his wife, my niece and her daughter had to witness this traumatizing situation and my mother's last night alive was filled with pain and anxiety.  Her symptoms were eventually relieved but not by any medications that was promised that would be available in this "emergency kit".  She passed away early that morning and we hold the lasting memories of our mom suffering hours prior to her death.  Hospice is about keeping terminally ill patients as comfortable as possible and managing their anxiety levels as much as possible.  This company's name implies that they provide a professional service.  However, I believe that they failed horribly on the ultimate goal of patient and family comfort during this very difficult period.  We had to learn the hard way, but I would definitively not recommend this company to people requiring the services of Hospice care.
