Founders Restaurant & Bar

I have been here many times and have never had a bad experience. There is occasionally a wait for food and such but it has never been excessive and this isn't the type of place you come if you are in a hurry. If there had ever been a problem (with food, service, ect.) it is quickly taken care of. Great food and even better drinks! I highly recommend Founders.

It's all about service... and Founders drops the ball completely. Went for a nice evening out, and I would say the restaurant was steady but no wait. We however did wait for everything.. Drinks, waited... Calimari, waited for 20-30 minutes and came out soggy. The dipping sauce was tasty however. The entree came about about 65 minutes after we ordered, the reason was because a "food critic" was in attendance. Really... well just so happens I too am critic. One of the Four entrees was incorrect in preparation, sent it back. Felt terribly sorry for my wife, as she waited another 15 plus minutes to get it put in a to go box. The waitress was not sympathetic, seemed more concerned with what I assume was the critics table(they got almost one of each item on the menu). Not sure why there is not a value rating, but it is poor.

I had a gift certificate for Founder's, so I thought I would treat myself and a friend to lunch on a lovely sunny Friday. The decor is dark but okay, but the service was possibly the worst I have ever had in my life!! Although the waitress was a polite young lady she was a terrible at her job! We arrived at 12.40pm, we were seated almost immediately and given the menu, which is pretty dull at best. I ordered a Diet Coke which took twenty minutes too arrive because apparently they had to 'clean the pipes', something that should have been done before they opened???? Our order of was taken, two salads, a side order of bread, mashed potatoes and shrimp, not too difficult you would think? It took twenty five minutes for our two salads which were sad little bowls of spinach fourteen leaves in total ( I counted them), and four slices of apple for seven dollars??? My shrimp, mashed potatoes and bread never arrived. I understand that it was busy, but come on!! If you run a restaurant it should run well when it's slow and when it's busy meaning all the time. Sadly I still have a lot of money left on my gift certificate and I have no idea what to do with it other than subject more of my friends and family to the same abuse.........I don't think so.

Hanna took great care of mom and i on a rainy sunday. Great burger with goat cheese n fries. Even found some mint to make me a mojito. Mom loved her chicken salad croissant n fries. Will come back for shrimp n grits n lobster martini
