        The attorney to whom I was referred spoke with me for 5 minutes, then asked me to hold. The call disconnected and shortly after I received an email asking me to send him some documents and he would call me back. I've heard nothing since, and when I asked for a refund of my $45 from the Lawyer Referral and Information Service, I was told that the fact that I spoke with an attorney, even for FIVE MINUTES meant I was not eligible for a refund. What a ripoff.

        I have never had a pleasant experience with their Lawyer Referral. I have contacted them a few times over a period of several years. Either I am never contacted with a referral, or the attorney will have a bad attitude and say that he is only taking a referral because it was a condition for payment of his student loans. I don't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience.
