    July 21, 2021, I sent a request to cancel a policy because I shipped the car to Boston where my daughter was in college and she got a policy there. I have automatic draft and never realized that they never canceled that policy. I realized it on Dec 9 2022 and at first was told since I had no proof they could only cancel as of that day. I searched my email and found the request I sent via email although I also spoke via phone. After finding the email and forwarding it, I was told that they only credit back 30 days and she would have to send to underwriting to see what they would do. It is Dec 22,2023 and i still haven't heard back. Now I am having to engage the Insurance Commission and a lawyer. Not good business Allstate

    Customer service is non-existent and non-responsive. If you are insistent on having Allstate Insurance, go somewhere else for better service. I was assigned this agency because my original Allstate agent closed his business, and I have not been satisfied. It's as if the employees at this business know nothing about insurance--either that, or they are too busy or preoccupied to help. I had a tremendous rate increase in my auto insurance, and two weeks later, I'm still waiting on a return call to explain what happened and what could be done to lower the rate. I took out insurance elsewhere. When I called to let them know, I was told I needed to forward my new documentation to them so they could evaluate my situation with regards to cancellation. It has taken 3 days to get the insurance cancelled. When I called separately to inquire about my homeowner's policy that I cancelled (regarding the refund), the owner of the agency wouldn't give me any information and told me to call my home loan company. One would think that he would know enough to be able to confirm a refund and provide some basic information. This is not good service. Please go elsewhere.
