Derek‘s Cafe

We have been coming here for years. Recently there was a change over of a lot of the wait staff and it has been such a game changer- the Dereks we fell in love with is back- fast service, great food! Peyton and her Mother treat our family like they are part of theirs every Sunday that we come. Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats are available!

Had a great breakfast there today. Love their omelets that are made on the grill and are not full of air. Had the Derek's omelet. Bacon, ham, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and of course cheese. Really great. The grits were good and I really like the fact they have rye toast. Service was friendly and quick. Pretty much classic dinner vibe. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

I would like to say the food was delicious, but Derek's Cafe made that impossible, although the Uber Eats driver was the initial reason for the snafu. When the driver arrived without my juice, I assumed the restaurant just hadn't sent it and I requested a refund from UE. Then I looked at my food and what was on the plate was definitely not something I would have ordered since it was filled with peppers of some sort and shredded hashbrowns, something else I don't eat. I called the restaurant and was told that someone with a name similar to mine had placed an order and that the driver must have mixed the orders up. She took my number and was supposed to call me back to let me know what could be done. Approximately two hours later and I still haven't heard from her. After not hearing from anyone, I REORDERED the food since by this time I was ravenous, and the restaurant canceled the order. So, I never did get my food and I won't be ordering from them again since I'm thoroughly unsatisfied with this experience.
