We scheduled our appointment 3 months out and waited a while in the waiting room to be seen. But, it was well worth the wait! Dr. Israel was very patient and very knowledgeable! Even though it was late in the day he took his time and didnt rush. I think if you can get passed the long wait, you wont be disappointed!

This is about the best Gasterenterologist I know here in GA. Dr. Israel Shaker, M.D. located in Macon Georgia, at the Pediatric Gasterenterology Center!! I would recommend Dr. Shaker to anybody!! In 1990 with the help of God, and Dr. Shaker, he saved my baby's life, and the care went on for some years!! As a Mother, I'm so grateful and thankful for Dr. Shaker and the team that cared for my little boy!! Even though it's been a long time, since seeing him, God have blessed him to still be around!! I want to say thank God and thank you Dr. Shaker for a job well done!! And we love you!!

If I could rate no stars I would. Dr.israel almost killed my child and he held no accountability for what he had done. My daughter had a gtube she did have some gi issues she was premature and the gtube wasnt working but prior to that she had had a Nissan fundoplication 6 weeks prior she needed time she ended up in the hospital because he sent her their due to not gaining and still puking well they placed a nj tube while having the gtube which is fine it worked amazing she was only about 5 lbs if that at the time he kept telling us she needed a gj tube we kept telling him no she was too small we had another child that had one for a few years and knew the risks so we continued to say no until one day he pretty much bullied us and told us that if we didnt do it she wasnt leaving the hospital and he would be calling DFCS so we told him yes as he did the surgery their was issues with her airways well they finally intubated he placed the gj tube what took hours and should not have he never came out and gave us an update told the nurses we were in the room and were not never seen him then we get back to the room he never came and updated us at all then a few hours after as she was wrenching and turning purple and blue in the face still had not updated us and said she could go home from the hospital we had a horrible ride home with puking and not breathing the next am after cutting feeds down all night she was pale lethargic and non responsive I tooke her to the peds that called the ambulance and then had to resuscitate my daughter she was flight lifted to savanah and rushed into emergency surgery where that told us our daughter was ins septic shock from a perforated jejunum and bowels and I asked if the tube flipped or something and surgeons assured us that had he done the scan he would have noticed as he placed the tube he perforated her intestines because the tube was too big for her tiny body my daughter was then on life support and soon later went into multi organ failure heart liver lungs kidneys lost oxygen to her brain she had over 20 blood transfusion ffp platelets and blood after months he came off and started doing better but they didnt know her quality of life had he listened to us as parents and understood or even acknowledged his mistake our daughter would have outgrown laryngomalacia and her few gi problems and aspiration as she was a preemie and her quality of life would have been better. My daughter almost died and we were told she was a miracle to still be here she was in home health for 2 years she is 3 now and doing better but be careful

I am very disappointed in this practice. I spoke with Ms. Sabrina yesterday and in detail explained to her what my daughter was going through and that my daughter had been in the emergency room for two days. Ms. Sabrina told me that she would need a referral to be seen and that once she had the referral she would show the Doctors and work to get my daughter in for today. I did everything she asked for and when she called me this morning she asked for all of my information, etc and then after all that offered me an appointment for October!!!. I was so upset I declined the appt and called GI Care for Kids in Atlanta and got an appt right away. So now I have to call my daughter's Pediatrician to get another referral. This practice wasted my time and meanwhile my daughter is still in pain. This is not right. You have to do better than this!!
