This is not the standard Udipi restaurant I am used to, that serves only vegetarian dishes. This restaurant serves non-vegetarian dishes also. The vegetarian selection is very good. The cuisine is Kerala style. Our party requested mild for spice heat level and it was prepared that way. This is very different from the many Indian restaurants in the area, where there is only one spice heat levelon the higher side. The vegetarian biriyani was very good. I heard the fish curry was very good. Vegetarian options: Wide variety of dishes from South Indian state of Kerala. You can get varying spice heat levels.

Went here on their buffet, felt like I was stepping into a family reunion get together in all the best ways, dishes from all over the regions of India made with love. I had one of the best Indian meals in years, I dream of visiting again! Go give it a try! Order lots of different items and mix/share or go on buffet day! A stand out amongst Indian Restaurants.

I recently visited Chackos Udipi Indian Cuisine, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. The wait time was excessive, and when we finally got our dosa, it was way below average. As for the service, it was so poor that I'd rather not go into detail. My advice? Check out something across the street or maybe just skip this place altogether. There are plenty of other options out there that are likely to provide a much better dining experience.
