image Dr. Martin has helped our family of four tremendously. I was at a crossroads with my son about a year and a half ago. He was diagnosed with ADHD in the second grade, but we managed to avoid the necessity of medication until the second half of his 5th grade year. It was then that we noticed his grades slipping due to a more difficult academic load and he was beginning to act out. He became more difficult to deal with at home and at school. Completing homework and chores was super difficult for him and put a strain on our family. Our pediatrician gave us a prescription for ADHD to try over the summer and I just couldn't fill it. I knew there had to be a different way to help him.
One day as I was scrolling through Facebook, I came across Dr. Martin's website. I SO hoped the information was true and that Dr. Martin was an honest man with real solutions. I decided right then to make an appointment for my son. What did I have to lose? The EEG (brain map) was fascinating. We watched while Dr. Martin tested my son's delta, theta, alpha and beta brainwaves in real time. It showed us exactly WHY he was the way he was. Out of 40 areas tested, he had 24 areas that were firing too high and 4 areas that were firing too low. We essentially had the reasons for his behavior on paper and Dr. Martin explained
every component of the test and answered all of our questions. We were blown away by his knowledge, integrity, and his genuine care and concern for our son. We left that day feeling blessed and hopeful that neurofeedback could help him and be the answer to our prayers.
After the initial visit for my son, we decided to have my husband, my daughter, and me tested. Each EEG (brain map) was eye opening and we realized that all four of us could benefit from neurofeedback. It helped me to have more compassion on my husband and daughter. They both had brains that were over firing tremendously which explained their high stress levels and emotional sensitivity. I had compassion for myself because the test confirmed what I had always thought...I had adult ADHD with an anxiety component. I had 22 areas that were firing too high and 7 areas of low function. Some of those areas of low function stemmed from head trauma (horseback riding falls from my childhood)...Looking back, I realize my trouble focusing in school and anxiety occurred after those falls. That was a light bulb moment for sure. I couldn't wait for all of us to get started.
The treatment was completely worth it and easy. We always looked forward to coming each week and always felt better after leaving. I can say with certainty that we are all better version of ourselves now. My son is making great grades and is able to complete his homework and chores with no problem. He is focused. He is happier, more confident, more organized and is a blessing to be around. My daughter and husband's stress levels are now normal. They are not flying off the handle about small things which is HUGE. They are both happier and we can all joke around together with ease. I am more confident, more organized, and have a much stronger focus. I'm no longer overwhelmed on a daily basis and I have a sense of peace. We all do. I would say that one word explains us all. We are a much more peaceful and harmonious family. The neurofeedback changed us ALL for the better.
In addition, Dr. Martin helps children and adults that have suffered concussions. Neurofeedback can reverse neurological damage to the brain. He offers pre season and post season testing to give information to parents to see IF damage has occurred before or during a sports season.
Neurofeedback is an effective treatment to combat depression, addiction, ADD/ADHD, autism, dementia, and other neurological challenges.
If you are located in Smyrna, Marietta, East Cobb, Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, Canton, or Woodstock, his new Roswell location on Hwy 92 makes neurofeedback treatment very convenient.
If you have read this to the end, what do you have to lose? I can personally assure you that it will be worth it. Call for an appointment!
