My whole life I have heard people at funeral homes say, "Doesn't she look good?"
I thought that was silly until it was my own mother a few weeks ago. Now I know what that means: At Stanley, they erased the care and pain from my mother's face, leaving her looking at peace, without caking her up with makeup.
Before that, though, when they got the call, Richard Stanley personally showed up in a suit to take her to the funeral home and prepare her. And before that, when we went in months earlier to make pre-arrangements, everything was clear and simple.
Their chapel is beautiful and the acoustics are outstanding for both music and service, and they moved everything along at a good pace.
I hope not to need them again any time soon, but I'm glad they're there.
