I never attended church service here, some members are friendly and some act snooty. My daughter was cheering for the Spirit cheer team which she loved, despite of her knowing that she was the only person of color on her specific team, in which this came from one of the coaches mouth, to my spouse. When I heard of some of the things that were said in the conversation, I wanted to speak to staff, I then reached out to one of coaches and spoke with them, they had stated if my child missed a practice she would be dismissed off of the team. I understand that their routines need every person to be accountable, and how the coach presented the statement seemed as if coachwanted her off the team regardless because of her color. (My opinion) One day I went to pick my daughter up from cheer practice, my wife and I were in the car line the coach would look at us from the corner of their eyes, as if coach was too good to say have a good evening, as my daughter tried to get in the car coach stood there with a disgusted look on their face, I then looked at my wife and told her that coach couldnt even look us in our face. I told her we will give this season a try, but I dont feel good about this. One of the pastors contacted me and they were kind and gave me some hope about continuing with on with the program and so we did. I went to another competition and I couldnt take another moment of the coaches arrogance. We have took our child from this program and will not be returning considering how things are currently are on that specific team. In the past we have had an older child come this same Spirit Cheer program and the coaches were great and welcoming. I hated to pull my child away from what she loves doing, but we and she doesnt deserve to be treated like like some outcast because the color of her skin.

I thought religion was based on being good and kind to others? To reach out and help those in need? Not this church! I asked to park overnight in their lot with my RV because I had a dental appointment across the street the next day and they wouldn't let me. They had plenty of room and it wouldn't have bothered anyone. I GUESS THERE WAS NO ROOM AT THE INN! Sound familiar. Some practice for the good they can do for others and some do it for their self. I hope the flock is not as selfish as the Shepherd. Perhaps a devil in sheep's clothing?

About
First Baptist Church of Douglasville

THE SCRIPTURES The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.GOD There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.God the Father God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ
