Residence Inn by Marriott Decatur Emory Area

I was fortunate enough to stay here during their 1st month of opening. I had the studio King room. The shower is very spacious, the water pressure was good, and the towels though rough were very absorbent. The shampoo, conditioner, & soap are provided. They smelled good and did not leave a film or my skin dry. The bed was very comfy and the pillows too. I did not get to partake in the breakfast since I was already at work when it opened, so I cannot tell you about it. The only "complaints" I have is that the toilets are not chair height, so they are hard for tall people to get up, the wine was overpriced at the bar, and since one side faces the hospital the Medics can stay siren happy when they pull into the ER. The underground parking is great so you don't get wet loading or unloading. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and a CVS next door. So hurry up and get on in here.

This is a really nice hotel and I want to give them 5 stars, but I just can't and here's why: Pet owners be aware, the fee us $150 non-refundable. I've never had to pay more than $100 and I travel all the time. To get to the hotel you have to go through a CVS parking lot. It can be a very busy area and can take time getting in and out. The entrance to the hotel is very confusing the first time you arrive. The elevator beep is EXTREMELY loud as it passes floors and arrives. The water pressure in the shower seemed low The shower controls are not accurate, took a minute to get the temperature I liked. Once there it was easy for future use. The AC cut off in the night both nights so I had to go turn it back down, not my favorite. Overall it's a nice hotel, just a few things that are annoying. The pet fee though just ticked me off. I won't stay here again because of that and the crazy in and out to the lot.
