Very Rude Casher!!!! As you come in the door there is a big sign that say 'Seat Yourself'. My wife goes in with my 2 year old Grandbaby, my daughter and her husband come in, as I am getting my 93 year old mother out of her wheel chair, the casher comes and tells us that table is reserved. We are force to move to the same style booth on the otherside of the resturant. We had already received menus and sivler ware. We are seated and another old man that appeared to work there was over in the corner stairing at us. You would think that two parties of six would get treated the same. I started going to Evans with my Grandmother in the early 60', but I will never go there again. If you have no respect for a 93 year old that can bearly stand, then you shouldn't be in business.

My husband and I recently bought a house nearby and were excited to try Evan's. The food was fine, but when we went up front to pay, the lady was incredibly rude to us. We noticed she was very friendly with the older customers, but her tone quickly changed when we walked up. We happen to look very young for our age (we are both almost 30) and often get mistaken for college students or younger. It seemed she did not like us based on our age or what she thought our age was. We left upset because we thought we had found a local place to eat, only then to be treated badly. After some time, we decided to give it another try and went back. When we walked in we were told by the same lady that they were closed, when the place was full in the middle of the day. We left and called the owner and told him everything. My husband and I never complain, are always understanding, and tip well. They lost potential customers because of this lady. We will never be back.

I've been eating at Evans since 1967. It was my first Atlanta restaurant, and I've been going back ever since then! There's nothing fancy about the food, but it's always been good to great for me. Given how many times I've eaten here (often two or three times per week), I think I qualify as an Evans aficionado, and because of my extensive eating experience at Evans, I'm able to attest to how reliably good the food is. Service is fast and friendly, and prices are reasonable (though recent price increases have seemed a bit above the mark). Still, if you want simple Southern diner fare (with a few Greek touches thrown in for good measure by the Greek family who own and operate this local institution), you'll have a hard time finding a better place or better food.
