Douglasville: March 16, 2020 @11:30am My experience with getting allergy shots has been less than ideal. I received a text stating my serum was in the office, so I went in only to be told it’s not there and disregard the text and the office will call once it’s in the office. I never got that call. I went in for an appointment and asked and they said it was in. When I ask the front desk for a work excuse some tell me the nurse will get it and others print it themselves. I went in Thursday for my shot, I’m sure the expiration date was checked, as a nurse, and noted the impending expiration date before Monday which would be my next shot. I should not have to make a trip to the office only to be told my serum has expired and needs to be ordered, which will take weeks before I am notified again. There is no continuity of care, which delays my treatment, and subsequent relief. I overheard a nurse tell a man that he would not get his shot because his vial was dropped and broken. He should have been called and told he would not be getting his shot, and not make a wasted trip. This blatant disregard for the patients seems like the norm in this office. Which should not be tolerated. Very disappointed and frustrated.

First appointment staff wanted to turn me away because I am a veteran with PTSD and could not keep a mask over my nose for more than a few minutes due to onset of anxiety symptoms. After the PA or NP decided she would work with me, we talked about my symptoms and she ordered a significant series of blood work, which they don't do and I had to go to Labcorp (no big deal). About a week later they spoke with my wife and said that I had been bitten by a tick and not to eat beef or pork. They did not state "any mammal based meat nor use the terminology of the actual condition "Alpha Gal Syndrome", so I did not know this included lamb, venison, rabbit etc. Also my wife had to stay on them for two weeks to get them to send in an Epipen prescription. Last month I received a bill from Labcorp stating that my bloodwork was denied due to CAA not deeming tests as "Medically Necessary", I immediately contacted Dianne Robinson at CAA in attempt to get them to write this letter, in addition to sending labwork results to infectious disease doctor, and after multiple emails I even told her if needed I would drive the 45 minute (one way) to pick up paperwork and deliver it myself. Ms Robinson did fax the lab results, and stated that the nurse was working on the insurance issue and would call me as soon as she could. That was Dec 17, 2020, and due to Christmas and New Years Holidays, I allowed a little time. Now Jan 16, 2021 and my wife and I are trying to get them to respond to voice recordings (they never answer the phone) and emails. I am receiving "Past Due" notices from Labcorp for a very significant (to me) amount. As a veteran I have multiple insurances and never have problems with insurance billing at any other doctor. I was reluctant to leave a bad review, and have made numerous attempts to contact this office in order to resolve this matter, but to be ignored has now pushed my hand.
