Im making this review on behalf of my husband. His experience with John Thigpen Jr. started off with the promise of quick results after spending months with another attorney who did nothing on his divorce case. John showed up for a temporary hearing a few months after my husband hired him and did a good job. And that was all he did. After that, my husband couldnt reach him by phone. He had to call him repeatedly to get them to answer the phone. After pleading with him to help with his case because his ex wife wouldnt mediate or settle, John reluctantly set up 2 final hearings that got cancelled by the opposing lawyer. A year and a half had already gone by since my husband had filed for divorce. When my husband tried to get him to file for a jury trial, he wouldnt. His response was, What does it matter if it takes another year? At this point, my husband hired Susan Shook, and his divorce was finalized in a few months in his favor. So if you need a divorce attorney, I highly recommend Susan Shook. I would also recommend Tina Maddox, his ex wifes lawyer. She was a much better attorney and really outsmarted him.
