A cozy, romantic setting. We went with friends a few months ago and decided to return for our anniversary this weekend because it was so special. Excellent menu! Delicious food. The hostess was very gracious and attentive, our waitress was as well. We met the owner/chef and had a lengthy, very entertaining, conversation with him. I highly recommend La Maison if you want class!

We had a great meal at La Maison last night to celebrate our 21st anniversary. We had a fabulous appetizer, the Crab Tower, which was loaded with fresh crab and avocado. Our entrees were the special Surf and Turf featuring lobster and a tender filet of beef accompanied by mashed potatoes and a variety of fresh vegetables. The kiwi sorbet palate cleanser was excellent as well as was the crusty French roll. Lacey also brought us a complimentary glass of champagne, and we had a delightful conversation with Chef Heinz. All of this was topped by the dessert to- die-for, the Walnut Tart. Take time to visit this jewel housed in a lovely historical mansion and enjoy delicious Augusta cuisine.

If it was possible to give a 0.00001 review of this I would, however 1 star was the lowest Yelp allows me to go. Whatever you do, DO NOT eat here, especially during Masters Week. This years Masters experience was absolutely incredible...everything except the experience I had with La Maison On Telfair. Had a reservation Sunday night, found on Saturday night I would not be able to make it so I called and cancelled it. No problem right...wrong! Because my reservation was set for 8 PM on Sunday night and I called at 8:52 PM on Saturday night, the restaurant charged me $100 no-cancellation policy. Really??? And the fact that not any of their staff informed me of this is quite upsetting to begin with, but after I realized my card had been charged I promptly called to resolve this. Chef Heinz was less than cooperative and quite dismissive of me on the phone stating that they had to charge me for $100 to fulfill their contractual obligation. While I don't know Chef Heinz received his JD from, I am quite certain that this is completely and utterly false. Long story short-- Whatever you do don't eat here. This restaurant is run by people who are completely unwilling to satisfy their customers. I will be returning to Augusta for the Masters for years to come but will not step foot in this restaurant.

I wanted to take my daughter out for her Birthday. La Maison was the only highly rated restaurant with French cuisine in the area. What a wonderful surprise! In what was an antebellum home in old town Augusta, Chef Heinz has created an atmosphere of elegance and food to match. We had the lobster bisque and house salad which were wonderful. We both chose specials for our entrees - surf and turf (filet and lobster tail) and a trio of meats (pork, filet of beef and lamb). The sauces for each meat were perfectly paired with the meat's flavor. The beef was so tender it seemed as though it melted in your mouth. None of the sauces were overpowering, just the right amount of flavors to make each bite interesting. The deserts were unbelievable. We ordered the black and white chocolate mouse cake and a desert sampler that had two bites of about five different deserts. The mouse, creme brulee and cheesecake were light but rich. Sauces again complemented each taste. We spent close to 2 and a half hours enjoying our food without being rushed (like they typically do in Europe). It was a fantastic experience. Oh, and most entrees were between $21 and $30!!! Our total tab came out to about $60 per person. Incredible value. If you like fine cuisine, you can't go wrong with La Maison on Telfair.
