Dec. 2018, we rescued a Shih-tzu that had been shaved down but she had a few long, missed hairs so I called uptown Pups & asked how much to clip them. "No charge", was the the answer. After the 10 minute job, the groomer said, "That will be 25 dollars." Since the owner was standing there when I was checking out, I thought she might get in trouble if she did not charge me so I paid. (Problem #2.)April 2019, I took my other Shih-tzu in for a haircut, thinking I would be charged 25 dollars less this time but no. More importantly, my dogs haircut was just AWFUL (Problem #3). Some time in 2018, Uptown Pups tacked on an extra 5 dollars to my groom bill. I asked if the price went up & she said, "No. We charge you an extra $5 & then we take $5 off your total when you buy something in our store". I answered, "But I don't need or want anything". "We still charge you anyway", she said. That should have been my last visit there but this was the first "problem" I had with Uptown Pups. After having 4 Shih-tzus for the past 16 years, & having them groomed every 7 weeks, I know when it's time to part ways with a groomer. I have lost TRUST in Uptown Pups to do the right thing by me & my dogs.

GET A CONFIRMATION! - My wife scheduled a Saturday grooming appointment for our golden retriever 2 weeks prior, only to find out on THE DAY OF our appointment that we were not in their system and hence did not have an appointment. This was our first experience with Uptown Pups and had high hopes based on the reviews here, but we were wrong. After walking the store through our prior conversations with them they did not even attempt to make things right with us to bring us in later in the day. The only thing provided to us was to make a new appointment 2 weeks out again. I don't think so. We will be looking for a different respectable groomer.
