Budget Truck Rental

As much as I wanted to write a positive review- I just can't. The guy who rented us the truck was nice as can be- however other than that- everything else was awful. First off- he rented us a truck that even he said shouldn't be out on the road because they discontinued it as budget was selling off these older ones. When asked about why and if it was ok- he said it's perfectly mechanically sound- just Budget got new trucks in and are selling off the older ones. This one was covered in graffiti and all kinds of banged up- but we weren't moving that far so cosmetics weren't an issue. About 10 minutes down the road my husband (who is a professional truck driver) felt something was off and stop to inspect it. The rear tire had a flat spot where it had been sitting on it for too long. When we called to notify the guy here, he told us it should be fine- no issues. We proceeded on since I documented the phone call..... we loaded the truck and 30 minutes into the move- the A/C gave out and the truck started shaking. Mind you it's 102 degrees in South Georgia in May on this day we were moving. Again we called- and the guy said "You've got to be kidding me- well, I'd offer you another truck but I just don't have any" (there were at least 4 other trucks sitting there but I guess they were all rented out). After arriving, the ramp wouldn't come out of the truck (it's a 26' truck, no way we were getting stuff down without the ramp). Frustrated we called Budget who said they would look into it and see what they could do- but promptly hung up after "placing me on hold". 3 more phone calls to Budget and no one knew what to do other than transfer me. Once I called time #4 and asked for a supervisor, their supervisor refused to speak to me. LONG STORY SHORT- THIS IS OUR SECOND AND FINAL TIME RENTING FROM BUDGET! THEIR COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND NOT ALLOWED FOR DEALERS TO RENT OUT THESE DANGEROUS VEHICLES!

The cart needed serious repair and the truck's roof leaked in the moving cargo area. On the good side, the online rental process was quick and we got a good deal. We just would have our experience better if the truck and cart were in better condition.
