If I could choose 0 stars, I would. Sergio Barriga is one of the greatest cons on earth. I got personal classes from January to April 2014 in his dojo at Westchase. He always asked me to pay for the next month in advance, I didn't get a single receipt from him for the money (I paid $400 a month for personal classes). When I found out that he'd been overcharging me (my friend called and asked about the pricing) and I wanted to cancel, he tried to extort $800 from me as a "cancellation fee" ! He never gave me a copy of the agreement that we had signed when I started training there, because his copier was supposedly broken at that time. When I asked for a copy of it, he refused to give it to me. It all stopped after I told him I was going call the Better Business bureau and the IRS. Plus, on top of all that, he always talked to me about protecting his martial art from people that try to "steal" it. I think he's just a madman. Good luck!

Awesome martial art, one of a kind! Great and knowledgable instructors. I signed up and then signed my 5 year old son up after I was thoroughly impressed by this place!

Shim Shin Do is my favorite martial art. I've tried a couple of others and just didnt get the sense of accomplishment like I do with Shim Shin Do. The others I've tried were all about competing and fighting. Thats not what I was looking for in martial arts. I wanted to learn self defense not how to be a fighter. When I found Shim Shin Do I was hooked from day one. If you're sick of MMA based fight schools and want to really learn respect and how to defend yourself this is the place. I'm so glad its located here in Westchase where I live.

I love the difference I've seen over the past year in my 7 year old son. The focus, determination, respect, and his confidence have improved drastically along with his attitude And his grades. Shim Shin Do was a lifesaver for us and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the martial arts. The enviroment and the instructers that have been learning and training Shim Shin Do since they were children is the icing on the cake.

Love this establishment. The environment is awesome. The instructors are great and the Martial art Shim Shin Do is the best I've ever seen. If you're thinking about joining a martial arts academy this is the one. Feel free to stop in and check it out they are very friendly.
