        Possibly the Gulf Coast's most prosaic restaurant, one step up from an aluminum-fronted diner somewhere on Rte. 1 in Anywhere, U.S.A. Beloved by not-finicky and expense-averse diners above age 65 (mind you, I'm 71) this place is securely in the lower pantheon of Venice eateries. If you want sophisticated and stylish, stay away. If you want comfort food to remind you of some long-ago era before you developed (or haven't yet developed) a taste for serious cuisine, this place is for you. I suspect canned gravy; for sure canned vegetables.

        AMbiance and greet staff may not be the best but we LOVE the food and the prices are VERY reasonable. Too bad the owners and hostess cannot be as personable and accommodating as the the wait staff!!
