Great location for launches and seeing manatees, that is it.- Entrance to marina is 4- 5' max, we ran aground both ways, in the channel (Which is not marked except a stick in the mud). If the water is low, your not getting out, Bruce even said they may need to dredge to get us out if we stayed too long.-Zero protection, the wall bordering the Marina to the harbor is only to the waterline, surge goes right in, east winds, you are sacrificed. The boats rock and roll against the dock continually- Ran aground inside the marina, 3 times.  Silt is everywhere, slips were less than 5' (Could not pull all teh way into the slip), cannot run the A/C, baskets clog quickly- Electric is questionable- Docks are falling apart, some folks had the poles strapped together with tie downs and they are relatively new but must have been installed poorly- Bruce is not a nice man, nor is he ever available.  nobody is when you are coming in even though they promised to have someone there.- Building was condemned we were told after the Hurricane but still left open for laundry, laundry is disgusting, so are the dead roaches inside the building, the town inspector needs to be made aware of this- Pump out barely works, watched a live aboard dump it all over the dock and into the water without concern- Drugs on the dock and parking lot- Liveaboards if you can call it that, they are definitely not boaters, it is a floating trailer park- Parking lot is a dirt lot- Sign on the main road is held together with tie downs- Other boaters have said they were stuck until the spring water rise, they cannot get out.- Bruce's claim on safety is a police chief lives in the marina on his boat, he must turn a blind eye to the drug usage and vagrancy, its a shame- There is a live aboard that uses a pump to blow the silt around to open up fairways but it fill back in. When we complained about the boat being stuck, Bruce said, don't worry, the boat will rock back and forth long enough and make a hole if you will. Nothing like tearing up a new bottom- Another live aboard said he starts his twin engines every week, floors it in reverse and in fwd to clear the silt out so his A/C can run, he fills in the runway each timeThe website is pretty, you are being duped, the location is good in calm weather and if you draw 3'We are in the area, nothing has changed for years. If you ask other locals, they all say the same thing, stay away. You can go by on any west wind, the surge is clanking and banging the boats around, you can see it from the road as you drive by.

Not bad, they are planning extensive renovations at the site. I expect facilities will be much better then! Update: We were there a couple of years ago and had a pretty good night. This time, we called ahead to notify we would arrive at 6:30 PM. We were promised someone would be there to make sure we got to our slip. We arrived at 6:30 to find no one answered phone or radio and no idea which slip was ours. Wound up grounding the boat on a sandbar in the marina. If not for the other boaters in the marina that came to assist, I don't know what would have happened. Could have severely damaged our boat. If I had known no one would be there when we arrived, I would have gotten better directions to our slip. Lousy customer service on this trip.

It's Not Good. Ecological Disaster, Run Down. Whoever is running this place needs assistance Desperately. Boats that are clearly abandoned, need to be charged twice as much until cleaned up. It's not fair to those who keep their vessels maintained and in working order. Someone's turned a blind eye for far to long.

There aren't enough stars for Bruce at Kennedy Point. We were at anchor, with a dying battery bank and little sun for the solar panels, so we decided to fire up the engine and let the alternator charge us up. The starter chose that moment to fail. Even though the marina was very full, Bruce went out of his way to find us a spot that we could be towed into. We wound up sideways to the slip, and Bruce and some awesome boat owners ran to help. The tow captain made some unfortunate decisions including unhooking from our boat (!) but in the end wound up doing what Bruce said needed to be done, and we finally made it into the slip with no damage or injuries. It was clear that he truly cared about us and our boat and the other boats. He also let us stay longer than planned to allow time for the new starter to arrive and someone to install it, and so we could time our departure (our draft is deep for the channel getting in so every inch matters) for high tide and calm winds and chop. Bruce really saved our bacon and we are so grateful.
