The Urban Cottage Educational Collaborative

I am SO GRATEFUL that our family came across UCEC. We've homeschooled for the past several years, but I needed additional educational support for my children. I am continually impressed by Marissa's level of knowledge and skill. My children have received more than just an education. They have learned how to be more focused and diligent in their work, and they just EXCITED to learn now. It's the one place that they never complain about going to. They love their teachers. They're more curious than ever. And their skills in math and language arts have improved tremendously. This is truly an educational gem for the homeschool community in Tampa!

My 6 year old son just finished his first session of Spanish Immersion at the Urban Cottage. We could not have been more pleased with the experience and cannot wait to go back for another session. My child learned so much over the last three months. Not only did he love the experience of attending, but I loved the communication I received from Marissa and even though I normally wasn't the one dropping off or picking up. The Urban Cottage is a great addition to Tampa and I'm so happy they've made Seminole Heights their home.

This Place is Amazing. Marisa is a once in a lifetime teacher. Our kids have grown so much bc of the awesome teachers, small class sizes, and very interesting curriculum ! We love cottage !

Marissa and her team have been such a gift to our family. Our son was enrolled in public school prior to the pandemic and we spent an extraordinary amount of time advocating for the support he needed in public school. These supports helped but it was clear to us after a few small group sessions at Urban Cottage that this was the right environment for him to thrive, rather than just survive. Urban Cottages small group sessions (5:1 student/teacher ratio) and hands-on, manipulative learning materials are inspiring, fun and give him the opportunity to engage in independent and collaborative work without the distractions that come with a large, busy classroom. Our son told us after his first session that Urban Cottage is peaceful and calm and I can hear myself thinking. The learning environment and educators have met my son where he is academically and in terms of his personality. Its exactly what we were looking for in terms of bolstering our home school curriculum and ensuring that our son has opportunities for social engagement. I am so pleased with how he has progressed and how much joy learning at Urban Cottage has brought to him and our whole family.
