Surf Down Under

Our ship had a 2 hour wait, so we walked over to the surf down under and met KJ. The shop is very nice as well as KJ. He hooked us up with some free beer and tequila shots while we walked around. He was super nice and we ended up hanging out there for awhile until we could get on our ship. Have to say people are not as accommodating where we are from. It is definitely a place to check out, or at least stop by and have a beer with KJ.

Just stopped in while waiting for our cruise ship...good shopping, great customer service, KJ was great, and loved the beer and fire ball!!! Can't wait to stop back in when our cruise returns!!! Would definitely recommend stoping by surf down under when you are in Tampa!

All I can say is WOW! My son and I were in Tampa on vacation, and were looking to go fishing. We couldn't find anyone renting fishing rods. We created a game where we would look around and try to build our own rod for fun. After finding a stick and a hook, we walked past Surf Down Under. I knocked, but they weren't open yet. K.J. answered and greeted us. After telling him our story, he was determined to help. He searched the store until he found a reel of fishing wire. He would up giving us more than we needed. I couldn't believe how friendly and helpful he was when he certainly didn't have to. I tried to give him a $10 tip for his help (we didn't even buy anything), but he wouldn't take it. As we were fishing, my son and I talked repeatedly about how helpful an nice K.J. was. Five stars for K.J. and Surf Down Under! Any place that has such nice people working for them should be praised and supported. Thank you K.J.!!
