Awesome food. Some of the best I've had as far as Italian down here. Usually I always end up falling back in baked ziti everyone I go to a place like this, but I hate the fact that most restaurants have a serious lack of sauce... they don't. They're awesome!

We have eaten from this restaurant twice. The first time we ate there was excellent. We ordered spinach dip and split the veal marsala. It was a little pricey but well worth what we paid. While we were there, we saw a number of people picking up pizza's. Although we never saw them, they smelled great. Last night we decided to try it based on our previous experience. BIG mistake. We ordered a Hawaiian but we basically got a cheese pizza with a few pieces of ham and pineapple. Not only were the toppings skimpy, but it was really expensive for what we got which was a little better than a frozen pizza. Next time I think we will pass and just order from papa johns or dominos. It would be much cheaper and taste better. If your looking for good Italian this may be the place but if your looking for a good pizza keep looking.

Gio's is a fun little Italian and Mediterranean (Greekish?) cafe that I would highly recommend to anyone, especially those with a serious desire for pizza. Great draft beer selection, the food at Gio's is very good but the pizza in particular is truly fantastic; Don't get a salad. Skipping right to talking about the pizza, I would recommend eating there or taking out only if you are travelling a short distance. The crust on their pizza is a wonderful, thin dough crust but that can cause it to become a little floppy while traveling. That said, reheating in the oven crisps leftovers right back up. I can't help mentioning that I would steer clear of the salad. The lettuce seems to be pre-shredded bagged lettuce and the vegetables topping it were just a little poor quality. Who wants a salad anyway when the other Italian and Mediterranean food is so outstanding.

I have been at least 4 times over the last few months, all for dinner service. The staff has always been great, once you get recognized as a new guest. I have tried various dishes from different parts of the menu and so far, the only negative blip would be with their salads. The items are just not that fresh. Especially if I'm coming in for an early dinner, I would hope the cukes were not looking like they came out of the freezer. Their pizzas are fantastic as are their pasta dishes. I love their feta and olive plate! Their beer selection on tap is extensive and we discovered a new favorite - Tucher. The Greek selections are as yummy as the Italian ones. What ever you do, save room for dessert! Their baklava tastes like my mom's and looks like it, too. The pies and cakes and cheesecakes are house made on premises. So very tasty! The atmosphere is relaxed but I have only been in the kitchen side and outside dining areas. The staff is knowledgeable and quick to respond to requests and recommendations. There are several other types of restaurants in the immediate area, but if you want Italian/Mediterranean, you can't go wrong with Gio's.

Anyplace with cellar in it's name you would think has a large selection of wines. That apparently was the wrong assumption. Their wine menu is pretty short, but we ended up trying a red blend that was excellent. Our friends also ordered some the mozerrella cheese and the cheese sticks. They thought they were ok.
