Add 3+ hours to your appointment time every month before you are seen. Be prepared to chance down the practitioner for days after your appointment is over to remind them to send your prescription to your pharmacy. It’s obvious this facility needs to hire more doctors or adjust their appointment loading, practice policies and procedures. For starters, they should reevaluate the monthly medication appointment requirement for well established stable patients. At a minimum, medication check appointments should be every 3 months. The monthly medication required appointment for established stable patients was a “medically unnecessary” policy which the former Dr. Birkmire (RIP) implemented in his practice to make more money. This policy has resulted in each practitioner being overloaded with unnecessary patient appointments.I literally pay every month to chat about the weather, my vacation, whatever topic comes to mind just so I can get my monthly medication refill. It’s a waste of time and resources. The patients who need urgent medical attention, medical re evaluation, prescription changes, etc. suffer because the prescribers calendars are overbooked with medically unnecessary appointments. For a Psychiatry Office, the fact that this situation has perpetuated to the point that the practitioners are complaining they are overloaded to the patients is lunacy! I’m not sure whether a law suit is in order or insurance fraud investigation necessarily but something needs to be done. It’s no wonder all google and other review sites rate this facility a 1 out of 5!

I read the other reviews here after I started seeing Kevin. I'm glad I did because Kevin is absolutely awesome. I cannot say enough good things about him. I sure hope some of he experiences others have had don't happen to me. I've only had one issue with scheduling, and it was my fault. I had a bed bug infestation that I discovered the day before an appointment. Obviously, in my panic to prepare the house for extermination and setting up exterminators to get me estimates, I completely forgot about my appointment and was charged the $75 fee. The very nice girl at the checkout window explained that if I have a copy of the exterminators paperwork showing that I was getting estimates that day, they would waive the fee. I had the paperwork and they waived the fee. Other than this, I've never had an issue with the front desk. It is a little unusual that they run credit cards with an app on an 'office phone'... Great doctors (Kevin, Marlene), no problem with front desk (crossing fingers)... The only issue is the wait times. You will wait for a while to see the doctor. I've waited more than an hour on a few occasions. UPDATE: I had a problem with a lost appointment. I had the schedule card filled out of a specific time and date, and it wasn't in the computer. They apologized profusely and rescheduled me immediately. Issues like this happen, no big deal... Bu they did go out of their way to fix the mistake. Good suggestion - get an appointment card and bring it with you. Still, both Kevin and Marlene are super awesome and have really helped me in ways I didn't expect. UPDATE: My doctor informed me he was no longer allowed to send to my preferred pharmacy Winn Dixie. My medication now costs $70 more a month because of this. Also, now twice, when my prescription is sent to a non-preferred pharmacy, they don't seem to get it. I have to call Ashlawn and ask to have it resent, which requires I leave a message and wait at least 2 days for the prescription to arrive. Dropping to two stars...

The office staff is worthless, NO ONE can provide accurate information. They leave you hold forever and come back with lame excuses.
