AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Lake Nona

I called to simply ask if the office was accepting patients and the clerk went back and forth with me asking what my insurance's website had listed as to which doctor was covered. The entire medical group is listed as covered under Florida Blue. The doctor is irrelevant!! I just wanted to establish our family as new patients here in Lake Nona. After being placed on hold several times, I called a different AdventHealth medical group office.

Dr. Nystrom is excellent and deserves 5 stars. She is attentive and thorough and responsive to messages. However, the billing dept is completely incompetent. They have continued to bill the incorrect insurance for me (always billing the insurance I had the year before, despite my employer changing providers) despite me providing my accurate insurance card both in person and via email. I have called the billing department 4 times in the past month trying to get this straightened out. Today, after trying to get it taken care of with an extremely unhelpful billing rep, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold for one hour and 45 minutes before I finally hung up. The rep actually told me, I cant bill your insurance from 2022 even though the claim should have been billed in 2022. You will have to pay out of pocket. (Which is not correct; I spoke to a different rep and they told me something totally different!) I will likely be looking for a new physician just because the billing department is so horrible and I am sick of spending hours on the phone with them to correct information that they should already have; I spend more time on the phone with billing annually than I do getting my physical completed.

I was there for a X-Ray and they supposed take the Signa Insurance and I payed for the copay, and now they try to charge more and send me a bill , send a message on you page and not get answer. costumer service phone is impossible to reach

If you're into substandard health care and rude staff then this is the place for you! Used to be highly recommended but would avoid now. My wife was told that the practice manager had to approve whether she could see a doctor otherwise she was only allowed to see a PA. I've had numerous long standing appointments cancelled at the last minute. This is how they treat their longstanding, loyal patients - we have both been with the practice since it opened.
