The desk at the endless summer - dockside inn and suites was open but unmanned and I waited an hour before anyone bothered to see me. Rather than offering a discount for wasting my time, they tried to charge me more than twice the price that I would pay, if I booked online. I walked away very unimpressed.

If I can give 0, I will do it. Worst experience ever. Dirty car, AC not working properly. Fuel is 3/4, claim at 7/8. Full tank return, still charge a fuel service fee. 20% concession hidden fee as well. Avoid the place as much as you can.

There are no cars available, they tell you to go to the airport.

good experience, correct attention despite the language barrier, we managed to have a clear and correct explanation, car with little use, 7000 miles, in excellent condition, which is why I lowered one star, it is that the interior of the car was clean, but the outside was very dirty, I understand that it had rained the day before, but that day it was fine

When I first arrived at the Universals Dockside Resort, I scoffed a bit thinking, Who would need a rental car after they already got to the hotel? Well, turns out me. Due to unforeseen weather circumstances, we had a sudden change of plans, and having an Avis rental site on the property turned out to be a remarkable convenience. Kirsten, who was the only person working the counter at the time, takes an obvious pride in her work, and works hard to provide a good customer experience. Since I was a walk up, my rental process took a little longer than normal. She had two scheduled appointments during the time we were talking that she honored and took care of efficiently. When she could fully dedicate her attention to me, she personally walked me out to my car to show me where it was parked, and to see if it met my hopes for the day. After that, we walked back to the desk to finish up the paperwork. Including the two interruptions, the whole process took a little less than an hour. The car was clean and well-maintained. It was an EV vehicle and operated perfectly. So nice to not have to worry about filling it up with gas before bringing it back. Since I returned the car after the Avis desk hours, I simply dropped the key with one of the resort front desk staff. Check-in was completed the following morning and I received my final receipt which matched what was originally quoted. I have personally had some really bad car rental experiences in the recent past, so I can appreciate what some of the other reviewers here have said. My experience happened to be excellent. Kirsten did seem to have to struggle with Avis computer systems quite a bit on a number occasions. (Additionally, I had to call the following day to make sure the check-in process has been completed as I have not received the final receipt. Again, Kirsten answered the telephone and within a couple minutes I had my email receipt.) Its not her fault, Im guessing its something with Avis systemically. I hope the Avis higher-ups can see this, and the frustrations stated elsewhere this page, and get that figured out, because youve got some really good people working behind the counter who deserve better support.
