I am going to attempt to express how horrendous my experience at this "Barber Shop" was. I advise anyone seeking a Hair cut to find anywhere else; even my eight year old nephew with garden shears could have provided a better result.
While traveling down colonial, knowing I needed a hair cut, I saw the sign for this establishment. Gentleman's Quarters Barber Shop caught my attention. Finally, a calm professional barber that does not blast hip hop or any other kind of music whilst cutting hair...or so I thought. (I believe the name has changed used to be One Cut and is now Gentleman's Quarter)
As I enter the atmosphere seems promising. The establishment is calm and quiet and i wait a short amount of time to receive a haircut. At this point I would like to mention the man cutting hair looks more like a gang member than a barber but i wasn't going to judge the man on his appearance. (I should have)
As I take my seat I explain that I would like what I currently have but shorter which is long on top and shorter on the sides which I style in a Comb over for a Business Professional look. I even went so far as to provide a picture of exactly what I wanted. The barber pretends to listen to what I am saying while playing on his cell phone with the "Periscope App". (which was on the entire time) As i finish explaining he begins to pump what i believe to be 1000 decibels of Hip Hop music through the radio system. I should have left at this point.
As he begins he decides i don't need what I asked for but instead I need a high and tight with a skin fade on the sides. Before I know what has happened a buzzer has been plunged into the sides of my head and my hair is gone. I figure to my self I am in it for the long run now.
Upon concluding this hair cut I have had a line carved into my head I did not request. My beard has been cut with out request. I have been cut by a straight razor above my lip. Not a single drop of alcohol or lather has been used during the shaving process so my skin is irritated. The end result is I know appear to belong in what ever gang my supposed barber has defected from in order to cut hair.
I urge anyone considering this establishment to look elsewhere unless you want a complete surprise that will invariably make you look like common street swill that mucks about in the lowest parts of our society.
