Worst experience ever. We had dust all over our furniture as it was never protected. Also, foul language was used repeatedly. I do not recommend using this company

As a honorably retired and permanently disabled 28-year-old Navy veteran whose military/VA case made national news media focus amidst the VA scandals had struggled by over four years (while I got denied medical treatment care from the VA that was appealed by doctors for service connected wounds my CRPS condition worsened from stage I to stage III). Took the VA six years to make a ratings decision on disability given the loss of use of my right leg for which VA refused to pay for prosthetic needs reported Washington Times and Tampa Bay Times for which in 2011 I paid out of own pocket for. My wife and I we could not find any homes in our area to move that were disability accessible and adapted so we chose to move to the country area into our first home the fall of 2016 after receiving confirmation of being able to use the VA SAH grant. The residence chosen in the country needed disability adaptions as i am mobile by means of a prosthetic it has no adaptable bathroom nor shower or sink area. I sought disability home renovations adaptions counsel from D&H Homes given the countless great reviews online. To reduce and eliminate any unnecessary delays with getting adaptions I sought waiver from the VA to eliminate the three-bid requirement and allowed D&H Homes sole bid for the contract. At first honestly thought couldn't have selected a better company, but after the experience and dealings with this company I would advise others not to seeking counsel with these folks. I will explain why I requested a quote estimate for a VA SAH grant disability renovations project a project where over six months passed and progress really gone no where with any sense of urgency. (Promises made) were promises broken from D&H Homes communication promises were not kept time, and time again documented through e-mail. Was informed the proposed draft paint program sketch provided to D&H Homes that the proposed renovations end 2016 for a 20x'42' that everything looked in budget range then got early 2017 saying numbers were over budget. Was promised to be sent a quote yet what came back received were for different renovations for 30'x30' addition (not requested that came out to more sq ft) but that would cost less! Revised draft to work with and to match up with the contractors proposed 30'x30' further quote was requested promise was made to have that back in 2 weeks that was not kept nor were promised phone calls documented via e-mail done. (Communication) was substandard and poor between the working relationship experience when communication was promised back both over the phone or e-mail that was not kept. Response requested back was received delayed or just not kept repeatedly time and time again. Inquiring over follow-up on submitting "materials selection" was told from D&H Homes the "e-mail must have got lost" I received an apology over that and again had to resubmit selections by re-sending out my previous sent e-mail that D&H Homes "lost." As the customer I had received a quote back that did not match what was requested from submitted proposal and had to communicate to be on the same page afterwards gave the benefit of the doubt for D&H Homes but only further got promises that were broken much like my treatment from the VA. (Attention to detail) this was not followed on simple tasks of asking for estimated quote for home addition for having submitted to the contractor via e-mail copy of a paint program sketch for draft of proposed plans which were requesting quote for a 20'x42' home addition in turn were quoted back for different dimension home addition being a 30'x30'! VA Regional Office grant POC expressed concern for lack of communication back from D&H Homes as no paperwork yet still had been received but six months after start of the request for the quote estimate for which got revised even working with this company quote had not been completed or communicated back after promise to do so week past promise date as that was not kept therefore on 4/13/2017 my wife and I had discontinued our working relationship with D&H Homes.
