Residence Inn Ocala

The check in policy needs to be fixed. I was told by management of this location that even though my email says 4pm check in- that if someone with a higher rewards stature requests a 4pm late check out then ME the paying customer must wait until later than 4pm to check in. WHAT! If you offer a late check out for guests then you should make it to where it would never interfere with another guests timeline. Because of this, I cancelled my expensive room and booked somewhere else that gives me proper check in times. Crazy!!

If Id have wanted to listen to semi engines all night when trying to sleep, I would have pulled into a semi trailer parking lot n saved quite a few bucks. Instead we took a room at the Marriott Residence Inn where a semi ran its engine all night 25 yds from the room window. When we complained, the manager said he knew nothing about such a problem. We contacted other folks in rooms on the same side of the building who had complained as well. Even when we called the Marriott 24/7 complaint line, we were told nothing could be done about it. How about letting customers know of the ongoing problem since the management was aware of the issue? Apparently its a regular parking place for semis to overnight next to the hotel. Not at all your normal Marriott service. Will not only NOT recommend but will direct others to stay away. This is close to the equestrian center so I will pass the word throughout the community.

Checked in late on a Monday for a three night stay. Elevator down and put on second floor. Dragged suitcase to top of stairs only to check in a room with fridge in middle of kitchen. Called for new room and moved to third floor. Sent a maintenance person to bring key and carry my bag however her could barely make it up stairs himself. I was not going to ask him to carry my bag. Elevator down all week and tired my bag back down stairs. It was miserable. At checkout, very rude front desk person. Not the Marriott I am use to being at.

We always try to stay at Residence Inns by Marriott when we can. The rooms are junior suites and competitively priced, maybe a few dollars higher than a typical hotel room. We were in Ocala to visit the World Equestrian Center, which is wonderful. Did not take any photos of the inn but here is one of the Equestrian Center.
