Helga's Restaurant-Beer Garden

Overpriced, very disappointing. The potato salad was OK, the chocolate cake (torte) was heavenly, the mustard (with the pretzel) was very good, the bread (served before our meal) was also very good. Did I mention overpriced? Meat was very thin, Schnitzel breading was as thick as the meat, oil tasted old, cucumber salad was just sliced cucumbers, the Spätzle was tasteless, the potato pancakes were overcooked.

Wonderful place! Food is very tasty and authentic. Got there near closing time (we got lost) and they still catered to our every need. They even let us taste the beers on tap until we determined which ones we wanted with our meals. I got the gypsy meatballs, my husband got the wiener schnitzel and we shared the German chocolate cake. Super delicious and fresh!

Delicious, authentic German food with great beer ! Now that this place is Helga's let me tell you Helga and her staff does German food right ! I had the hunters style Jaeger Schnitzel with Knöpfle style Spätzle, and pickled cabbage and a chocolate mousse for dessert. The Schnitzel had a delicious mushroom cream sauce that completed the meal nicely. The purple pickled cabbage was tangy and not overpowering and the Spätzle balanced everything out. I am looking forward to going here again soon! Thank you Helga !
