My dad and I went on an in-shore charter with Captain Billy today and had a blast. We both caught the biggest fish we’ve ever caught, myself a 41” red drum and my dad a 43” red drum. Captain Billy knows all the best locations and has the most up-to-date technology to mark fish and was more than helpful when baiting and hooking the lines. He also took great care of the fish we landed to make sure they weren’t injured and were ready to go back in the water. By the way he also took great photos and shared them with us before we left. He definitely does all he can for his clients, book fast because I’m sure he’ll have a packed schedule with how great his charters are!!

Capt. Billy has his operation down to a science. Very professional, but still a blast to be around. We had a crew on board and he made it look easy. Everyone caught great fish.

My brother and I were thrilled with Capt. Billy and his ability to get us on some big bull redfish and black drum. A beautiful day on the water with lots of action.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I must admit I found Captain Billy out of blind luck, but luck it was. Billy is an energetic highly knowledgable captain. His Yellowfin center console was in exceptional condition and outfitted with top-end electronics that Billy used to put us right on top of the fish. His tips and coaching were provided in a supportive, educational way without coming across at all condescending. His goal is to put you on your fish of choice, and he's relentless in making sure that happens. When it comes down to it, it's all about the fish. Personally I was looking for Bull Reds, which I've never caught but always dreamed about. Billy helped me fulfill that dream with three beautiful Bulls, all over 25 lbs. (42"). Just to make it memorable, he also hooked me up with a 12 lb. Snook. As we were ready to call it a day, we jumped a Tarpon in excess of 100 lbs. We didn't boat the Tarpon but it was a fitting end to and exhilarating trip with Capt Billy. If you're looking for a captain to put you on the fish and provide you with fishing memories to last a life-time, give Captain Billy a call. You'll be glad you did!

If you want the best charter you’ll ever book then fishing with Capt. Billy is the way to go! By far my biggest fish caught in shore fishing. My buddy came down from Georgia to visit me and we landed 8 huge bull reds, 1 tarpon, some sea trout, and some blues! Best time I’ve ever had on a charter (offshore or inshore). You’ll never want to go out with another Capt. again!

About
Daytona Beach Fishing Charters

After guiding Mosquito Lagoon and its headwater Ponce Inlet for almost 15 years, Capt. Billy enjoys his career more than ever. Guiding more than 200 days a year, the vast majority of his customers are repeat clients and have become good friends. He always welcomes new clients and truly enjoys sharing the experience and history of Mosquito Lagoon and the surrounding areas. From history about NASA, the lagoons flora, fauna, pre-Columbian peoples and geology, expect far more than just a fishing charter on your trip.Capt. Billy Rotne is a Florida native with over 25 years experience fishing inshore and nearshore in the east central Florida area. He was born and raised in a house on the water in Port Orange and had his first boat at 10 years of age. Fishing occupied most of his free time and when he was old enough to drive, he was fishing Mosquito Lagoon, Ponce Inlet and the Indian River Lagoon every time he got the chance. He became an avid fly fisherman and soon grew a passion for showing others what this special estuary has to offer. This passion led to Billy starting his guiding career. He still lives on the water and fishes daily, the coastal lifestyle is all Capt. Billy has ever known. As a child Billy caught his first Redfish at 6 years of age, and they soon became his favorite fish to target. Not much has changed as Billy still favors these shallow water copper predators. They provide a constant challenge for the fly fisherman and when targeting single fish, each and every fish has its own approach and style. He believes these are special fish and hopes to show as many as possible these fish in shallow water and help protect their future. Capt. Billy is an advocate of "Catch, Photo, Release", and provides professional grade photography, because their is nothing worse than a bad picture of a fish of a lifetime.
