Pelican Bend

Pelican Bend is famous for their Sauteed Fish, it's the house specialty, and for good reason, it's superb. The sauteed shrimp is done in the same fashion and I have trouble choosing between the two. They're buttery and crunchy at the same time... delicious! I choose their rice as a side dish, I think it goes perfectly with fish. Appetizers we've had are their coconut shrimp and their calamari, both really good, especially with the mango chipotle sauce and their sun dried tomato sauce. We travel from 45 minutes away to eat here, so that should tell you how good their fish is. In season there's always a wait to get in. People seem to gravitate towards good food and this place has it. Even off season at dinner time there was a wait. We enjoy sitting in the chickee hut out back on the water. The place is beachy, not fancy, it's a casual experience. Hurricane Ian devastated the place but they've brought it back better than ever, good job! So glad they persevered!

Wife ordered soft shell crab sandwich. Came out the body part of the soft shell crab was the size of a medium size shrimp. It only took up about a quarter of the size of the bun. They took it back and put a second soft shell crab on it. It still didnt fill up the bun. For $17.99 for soft shell crab its not worth it. Very disappointing.
