Are you looking for an Honest, Reliable full service HVAC repair company, to come quickly when you need them? A real life “Johnny on the Spot”, did I say reasonable pricing policy HVAC repair company, servicing most of Florida(IIRC)? Then in my humble opinion you only have one option, so sorry but you need to know the truth. It always happens on a day like 8/16/18, when my wife had just arrived back home from Philadelphia with two of our grands. Please Lord, why the Air Conditioner now! Quickly in to Poppop mode, I inspected the unit and determine that a faulty blower motor unit was the problem. I scanned the internet looking for anyone that could come and release me from this test. One company promised to come, I told them the situation but it’s $85.00 for a “look-see”. They did come and after telling me what I already knew, that I had issues with the blower motor unit, the “Tech’” offered me 3 options. Each involved hacking into the air conditioner’s electric system and installing non OEM parts. Neither option would return all functions to my unit. Pricing $470-800. Well damn! After a brief polite, direct discussion with the tech concerning his pricing policy, I called the owner of the company (The owner had called me prior to his worker arriving because his Tech Rep was late). Anywho, the owner was now to busy to speak with me! Yes, that cost $85.00! Back to the hunt, I put out an A.P.B. on a HVAC tech on Home Advisor and Thumbtack. I’ll admit, I was blunt and to the point, I really didn’t want to deal with any more B.S. It was late afternoon and I had little hope that a blessing was coming that day. I attempted to use a large utility fan to force air through the air handler. There was some but little relief. While sitting on the couch hoping for a cool evening, thinking that I need to learn how to do my own air conditioner repair, my phone rings. It was Mr. Steve Cassens of SDC Mechanical. He told me that he had a used part in his private stock that he believed would resolve me of my problem and he could come right now and try it all for $70.00. 20-30 minutes later the cool air was again blowing and Poppop was still a hero. Mr. Cassens then informed me that he could leave my unit as is or for an additional $215.00 he could return in a couple of days and install a brand new O.E.M. unit. 3 days later Mr. Cassens returned and completed the job properly, for less than the original company, who wanted to hack my air conditioner. At the risk of being redundant, if you are looking for an Honest, Reliable full service HVAC repair company,, to come quickly when you need them, DO NOT HESITATE, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, CALL Mr. Steve Cassens of SDC Mechanical. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
