Was stationed there from 5 June ‘69 thru 27 October’72. First In VT-3 then on Station in the link IFR simulator building. Was an AT. Great duty station with a lot of amenities. I remember seeing the Blue Angels there (north field) when they flew F-4’s. Pensacola beach the best kept secret, with Dirty Joe’s bar. Trader John’s on Palofox street was a famous aviator hangout. Two months after I arrived on station hurricane Camille hit Gulfport/Biloxi with a cat 5 storm. WELCOME TO FLORIDA! Ha!

1st duty station working of the old T-28 76 - 78. Loved it and the changes thru the years make it a great duty station. P-cola close, Beaches, Fishing, Babes and a great place to be stationed, Moved on to USS Nimitz F-14 VF-84 squadron and a bit of adjustment but a world tour was awesome. Go Navy and give em hell for those serving now. All us old Vets still think about the time we spent serving!
