Interesting old café, totally off the beaten path, but charming.  Every table was full!!  We sat outside under an enormous old oak tree, dripping with Spanish Moss, absolutely charming.  The café is known for their rice and beans, chili, Reuben sandwiches, and Cuban sandwiches.  I ordered the chili and my husband ordered the pulled pork with rice and beans..  After we waited several minutes for our food, the waitress meandered out, quite hopeless, told us they ran out of beans, and there were no substitutions so we payed full price for an order that was missing 1/3! I asked if they were substitutions, but she just muttered, "I don't know". The yellow rice was good but the pulled pork was cold, very disappointing. The chili was hot but quite strange with red beans, chopped tomatoes, and some hamburger in what appears to be tomato soup.Five Stars for ambience but only Two stars for food. How do you run out of black beans at lunch time and why can't food be served at least warm?
