Simply Southern Eatery

This is a typical little mom and pop restaurant. You seat yourself but order your food at the counter first. There is no table side waitress to take your order. Then they call your name when your food is ready. Sort of cafeteria style service. The food was good and I ordered a simple egg and bacon with grits breakfast platter. I dont like the non-refrigerated creamers in my coffee and not the powdered stuff rather with all the chemicals in it. So I asked for a little milk for my coffee and while I did get what I asked for, the woman who took my order kept pushing the dry creamer and non-refrigerated creamer. Its like I was asking for an entire cow when I asked for a little milk for my coffee! I got the deer in the headlight look from her. Overall the food was good. I would come here again. The prices are low for the amount of food you get.

I usually dont leave reviews but had to with this. I travelled from out of state and tried Simply Southern in Macclenny Florida, and it didnt disappoint! I was surprised how affordable the prices were and how delicious the food was. I had grits, eggs, turkey sausage and it comes with toast but you can order biscuits if you want. Five-star all the way on the taste, the grits were better than perfection and the eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered. This is definitely above any breakfast place I have ever been to. The menu has something for everyone and the ambience is perfect with booth seating or tables and chairs. The staff was working hard and you could tell enjoyed what they were doing and were very professional and welcoming. The patrons were nice and friendly as well. My only wish is that they had one of these restaurants in Columbus, Georgia.
