Do yourself a favor and stop looking anywhere else for your pet training needs. Go with Good Behavior Dog Training because it's a smart decision and totally worth it. Robin has been in the industry for a very long time and it shows. I met her at Tractor Supply with my puppy before the pandemic and she gave me tips on how to properly hold his leash for more control. I've had 3 dogs in my life and never knew there was a better way to hold a leash. That might sound small to you, but at this point I wasn't paying for any kind of service from her. That says a lot to me about a person-- she saw I was struggling and offered help. She gave me her card and told me to check out her website, which I did and I encourage you to do as well. There are so many helpful tips that make a world of difference. Yeah, there are free articles and blog/vlog posts out there, but if you're looking for some one-on-one pet training you're going to get it from someone who genuinely cares about you and your pet's specific needs are. We had a mixup trying to schedule our first session, but she was understanding and was able to make time for us. When she arrived, she wore a face mask, and we did most of the training outside while walking around the apartment complex. Just to give you an idea, our dog is a year old and he is super skittish because we haven't been socializing him the way we would have if there weren't a pandemic going on. He was afraid of everything, barked and pulled, and just really unpredictable. She was able to show me where I needed improvement in how I was handling his behavior as well as give me tips on my body language and commands. It's been several weeks since she came by and it's like having a new dog. I feel like not only is he less skittish on the leash, he's more mindful, calm, and therefore, confident. There are a few things we would like to work on in the future and plan on calling her for help with our other pets. Today, she called to check in on our puppy. She wasn't trying to get us to sign up for another session--she understands we're in the middle of a pandemic. I'm saying this because I want to highlight that she's personable too. There are trainers out there who will make you feel like you don't deserve a dog, or trainers who make you feel like you need to spend a bunch of money to make your dog happy, but she gets straight to the root of the problem (whether it's you, the dog or both) and just really helped me learn so much. I thought it was really kind to say hello and make sure our dog is doing alright. If you want to know you and your dog are in good hands, go with Robin at Good Behavior Dog Training. Seriously, stop looking right now and just call her.
