Initially my son really loved PAX (and so did I) and their main campus. Sadly, my son was found deceased in a small PAX off-campus house in a drug infested neighborhood only days after detox. We thought he was going back to the same house as before but instead they placed him at 529 S. H Street, Lake Worth and the Detective with Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office told me it is a terrible neighborhood full of drug dealers right outside his door waiting to sell to those early and weak in recovery like my son. Sadly, I lost my only child that day from 100% carfentanil overdose - nothing else in his system. He didn't have a chance and no one was in the house to administer Narcan or check on him. And, despite a police investigation, somehow no needle or drug paraphernalia were found on site by police. I wonder who cleaned that evidence up before police arrived? And I seriously question the mandatory bed checks. I regret sending my son to Florida and to PAX. Between the detox facilities and PAX, they sure got a lot of our insurance money and I got to bury my child.
