Lack of communication. Maintenance is the biggest issue. The office staff is great.

This place is horrific. They place you in halfa** homes and expect you to accept the poor living conditions. Their maintenance is a sorry joke. If your a/c goes out, stove only half way works, or a tree falls on your house... Don't expect them to help you out in a timely manner. They are the sorriest rental company in all of Jacksonville.

[UN]HELPFUL CITIZENS, INC. will try to evict you if you're a week late on your rent payment by propositioning you to accept $150 to vacate by the end of the month; or face legal action against you. This business targets low income people specifically, as it is income restricted. Low income=limited funds. Limited funds=can't afford a good lawyer when you need to sue corrupt businesses that live to take advantage of the fact you are low income & can't fight back. Thus, they're still in business. Additionally, they refuse to fix any plumbing issues in the old homes they 'patch up'. Once you move in, and send a maintenence request regarding any plumbing issues, they send you a memorandum that states you're financially responsible for plumbing costs over $150! You don't own the home, but are responsible to fix the plumbing yourself out-of-pocket. Just as an added bonus, my rental home came with a leaky roof that began flooding the kitchen when it rained. ALSO, most of their property listings are in the hood; sketchy parts of town. Had the luxury of the police finding a dead body less than two blocks from our house. Aaannndd, my elderly neighbors house was broken into and robbed, in broad day light, two houses down. Last, but not least, we were served with eviction papers because we were 3 weeks late on the rent one month (due to unforeseen events, sometimes, life happens). If you live paycheck-to-paycheck, DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! They front like they're all about helping to uplift poor folks, but will turn into sharks when it comes to getting their money. They show no mercy, so 'buyer beware!!!'
