We were recommended to see Nick Scotto for an injury from sports. We visited Nick weekly from March to June; he asked lots of questions and asked for feedback as the sessions progressed to tailor the treatments properly. Very professional, kind and knowledgeable about the pain and treatment. He slowly and methodically brought to full recovery. Cant recommend Nick enough! Nick was wonderful to work with and properly participate in treatment and recovery. (Hes also a great family man and father.)

Physical Therapy wasnt really on my radar but after almost a year and a half of showing no significant improvement from an arm/elbow injury on a job, I came to realization it wasnt going to heal on its own accord. The injury wasnt just affecting my work but also everything I loved to do; playing with my boys, surfing, fishing and all the other things that bring balance and enjoyment in my life. After watching all the things I loved to do suffer as a result of the injury, it was the turning point to seek out professional treatment for my right arm. My wife had previously worked with Dr. Nick on a sports injury from tennis and she highly recommended that I reach out to him for a consultation. Our initial meeting was primarily patient history and background, specifically trying understand what had caused the injury and how it was affecting my day to day personal and professional life. After he understood how and when the injury occurred, he worked to create a custom tailored PT plan to repair and strengthen my arm. Prior to seeing Dr Nick at River I had been working with a massage therapist who was breaking down the scar tissue on my right arm. The visits had definitely helped soften the scar tissue and bring some pain relief to the affected area, but after a few months it wasnt getting stronger and I felt that I had made all the progress I could through this approach. Taking all this into account, Dr Nick created a 2.5 month program that would start very simply, using resistance bands and slowly increasing the load placed onto the right elbow. At first the exercises seemed so simple that it felt like it wouldnt result in healing the injury. By the 4th or 5th visit, he had slowly but incrementally increased the resistance level to 10lb and 15lb weights with my arm extended in front of my body, something that a month earlier would cause excruciating pain. A few weeks later it was up to 30lbs and longer workouts that would have truly been impossible in the weeks prior. It was a gradual consistent approach that had lasting effects. Each week he would make minor tweaks to the program that ultimately kept the physical therapy on course for the goal of getting back to where I was prior to the injury and to reaching my goal. After just two and a half months I completed my physical therapy and have gotten back on track to where I left off a year and a half ago. My only regret is I was so busy that I delayed starting the physical therapy process. Ive been back on large, physically demanding jobs and also pushing myself in the outdoors in my free time. I am mostly pain free, but occasionally if I experience some pain, it is fleeting and doesnt slow me down. We live in a society of instant gratification expecting immediate results. In the end, some things dont change; slow and steady wins the race and a simple, consistent, custom tailored approach under Dr. Nicks professional guidance, has brought me back to my intended personal and professional path. Thank you!

I went in to see Nick for a lower leg muscle injury from running. Before coming to see him I could barely make it a mile or run around with my kids because of the pain. I did a lot of research on my own and tried to figure out how to self treat it but the problem only got worse. After a few visits with Nick I was able to get back to running and training for my half Ironman which i was able to complete a few months later. Nick did a fantastic job helping me heal the injury and giving me some practical workouts to maintain durability for the future.

I went to see Nick about some nagging shoulder pain that I had for the past few months. I tried to fix it myself with some web searches and previous PT knowledge, but it never would remedy itself. Working out was out of the question and daily activities around the house were too painful to do. I was a bit skeptical of coming in, but Nick and Susan put my mind at ease. Dr. Nick was very transparent about the process and costs. He even diagnosed the issue as something else causing my shoulder pain that I had never heard of before I even committed to the process. After a few sessions, I could see marked improvement and now I am back to 100% in the gym and playing with my son pain-free. If you were like me, in pain, compensating in your daily life to avoid pain, and simply can't figure it out yourself, save yourself the headache of going to a "one size fits all" orthopedic clinic, and make an appointment with Dr. Nick. You won't regret it!

To my dismay, 5 months ago the mobility of my left shoulder started to deteriorate, It got to the point where it became a task just to move my arm inches away from my body. as an avid gym goer this ailment not only effected my body but also my mind. Other than Covid, this was mentally draining. I needed an action plan. I started going to physical therapy office that was recommended by my doctor but I wasn't getting the one on one attention that I needed because the physical therapist would be working with two other clients at the same time. After my 4th visit there was no action plan and I still did not know the root cause. It was like I was going through the motions with no signs of improvement. One night, I was scrolling through my Facebook timeline and I see an ad for River City Physical Therapy. To be honest, I was hesitant to reach out but I'm so glad I did. Nick was able to come up with an action plan, he gives his client the one on one attention, you walk out of the office with "homework" exercises you can do at home. To add a cherry on top, he has an awesome receptionist Susan. They make a great team plus they give you the warm and fuzzies which I think it's important during these stressful times. Do yourself a favor and give Nick a chance.
