        Never knew this place existed. For $3 dollars each we were able to explore the Maritime history of Jacksonville as well as the USA. The Heritage Center is full of wonderful models. It was great to see pictures of how downtown Jacksonville looked when downtown had the shipyards instead of Blount Island. This place is a must for any history buff.

        This nautical museum is full of hidden historical treasures. A must visit for families when visiting downtown. One important note: As of July 1, 2013 the Maritime Center is only OPEN Tuesday-Saturday - from 11 AM to 5 PM and is CLOSED on Sunday and Monday.
