Community First Credit Union

I learned about this credit union on the Westside from my daughter when I moved to Jacksonville, FL and I have been a member for eight years. I'm very happy with the interactions that I've had with the employees over the years. Liza is the only name that comes to mind, as she has helped me a lot. She is professional, yet friendly and through. They have alerted me of fraud on my account a few times and I really do appreciate that. If you are looking for a good credit union that works on your behalf this one is it!

Two terrible interactions, in addition to previous issues not with this branch, have us questioning whether we want to continue banking with CFCU. On our first visit we worked with a personal banker (didn't catch her name) who made a political comment that, first of all was not relevant to be stated when she was representing the credit union, and second was highly inaccurate. We returned the following weekend in an attempt to open a CD. We were advised the wait would be 45 minutes or more to speak with the one personal banker on duty. (While waiting to speak to a teller in order to register to speak with the pb we observed that the pb seemed to be chit-chatting with the person at their station; no sense of urgency despite people clearly waiting.) There was someone sitting at another teller station who was eating, so it was unclear what their role was, but at the very least it seems like they should have been in a break room if they were truly unavailable. But the attitude from the teller when we balked at the wait time made us decide to pull our funds. We decided to open a CD at another institution at a slightly lower rate, but with the service we expected.

This Credit Union is the best! I have been a member for 13 yrs. Always great 1st class services and great mobile app.
