It is difficult to put into words how lovely this experience was. The owners are genuine, warm, kind, and funny. You are treated with beautiful manners, Luke a real person of value, not the "next" in line. I was blown away, actually. The world most of us live in is rude, coarse, blitz speed, impersonal. Here, you are "Sir" "Madam" or first name, handshake. They even open and close the door for you.
It is the ultimate culture shock.
I found myself wanting to stay and stay.
And... not. One. Person. On. A. Cell. Phone.
People were talking. Talking WITH one another.
Not at a bloody screen and virtual person. A real person, In the same room and at the same table.
Strangers came up and introduced themselves to me.
When is the last time you experienced that!?
They serve Real tea, prepared, with all the accoutrements. In a teapot. Cup and sauce.
Not styrofoam or dirty glass with a straw.
Plates, too. Beautiful plates.
Now. The food.
Millie is a cook, a chef, and multi tasks better than a paramedic. Her cooking is from scratch.
For real. Not on a label "scratch." For real.
You honestly can not believe your own tastebuds.
And the portions? Get ready. You will be full. And beyond.
The prices are also perfect. I would have paid twice. If he had let me.
What Truly blows me away is that they are having to close. Not enough business.
Not enough business!?? Are you kidding me!!!???
Isn't this what we all want???
I wish we could all experience what I and others experience there.
It hurts my heart that they are having to close.
I wish I could say that I'm surprised.
But, I'm not.
Somehow, we have come to value the McDonald's experience, or the cattle run restaurant experience. Pay big bucks to be the next on the castle call list.
I would rather stay home. And I will.
