We got our daughter back! Our daughter is 15 and she struggled with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, self harm (one instance requiring 15 stitches), and suicidal ideation with an attempt that led us to an inpatient setting. We tried therapy, prayer, medication - and nothing was stopping the cycle of stress > self harm > hospital. It was at our most desperate place we found Honey Lake. I read the reviews and some concerned me; but we felt like this was our last ditch effort. We had tried everything else. Every interaction with them prior to admission was wonderful. Dropping our daughter off was hard - but we had clarity on what to expect. They were very upfront about the routines and schedules and what things would look like. The first night we spoke to her (3 days after admission) she was in tears begging us to pick her up because this was not going to work! We asked how the staff were treating her - and through her tears and ugly cry voice she says theyre all wonderful! 87 days after admission - we picked up the strongest, happiest, proudest version of our daughter weve ever met. She is GLOWING from the inside out. The program was HARD - intentionally and sequentially - never making anything too hard, too early. It showed her that she was capable of hard things - and through that growth she became proud of herself. I could cry with gratitude. My wife does cry with gratitude every day. This place not only saved our daughters life PHYSICALLY - it gave her strength and confidence emotionally and spiritually. I can and will recommend Hazel House and Honey Lake to anyone that needs the help they offer. Im tempted to even put my cell here so a reader can call or text to verify Im a real person and this is a real review. Hopefully clicking on my name will give you my email.

While I was in honey lake I was lied to constantly. The staff treat the kids horribly and have no remorse if you are upset. I had on numerous accounts been ignored when I requested help when self harm urges came on strong. They would yell at us, ignore us, and frankly treated us like we were in a troubled teens facility. They lied to my parents and others parents on numerous accounts, and also never reported when girls had suicide attempts. Everything about this place was very hushed, and it was terrifying. When I left they have refused to give any records about my treatments. Any complaints girls made would be ignored, and we would be told we dont get to have a say. And the idea of even asking why was severely not okay as it was seen as disrespecting authority. The only thing I got out of hazel house and the only reason I can even justify giving this place one star is the fact that I have coping skills to deal with my suicidal ideation but other than that it was a bad experience, this place ruined my family, and my ability to trust people. This was not a helpful place for me, and I do no recommend coming here.

Garbage. They will rob you of thousands and not listen to any of you concerns. Shameful place. The Bible is toilet paper at HLC.

Words can't really explain what a blessing Honey Lake was to my son. God is all over this place and the quality of care was crucial to his recovery. I highly recommend. Thank you to the person that had this vision and said yes to God and followed through with what God had laid on their heart.

I was at honey lake for 1 week. I came into this program with high expectations and a very positive mindset. That was until I had to leave. I had struggled with self harm. And I told them I had these urges and they put me on watch for 24 hours 2 times. Which I understand them being protective but I explained to them that these urges were normal and I wasnt going to act on them. I explained I would be fine and my family couldnt afford for me to be watched, and they said no we want you on watch. The biggest complaint that I have is that I told my therapist specifically not to tell my parents certain things I told her and that I would tell my mom. ( it was stuff about my past I wanted to tell my mom ) mind you I had no suicidal threats or homicidal threats or anything about abuse being talked about. And my therapist there told my mom everything I had told her. I was 18 at the time. I have never had a therapist tell my mom anything unless I was in danger. Then I talked to the doctor and everything seemed normal and I go to the hall to play games and my dad calls me and tells me hes coming to get me. I asked why and my dad told me they said it wasnt a good fit and they were worried I was gonna self harm. I am ok with that, but I am an adult why couldnt they have told me??? The doctor also sent me home with none of my medications filled. She gave me new meds and sent me home with a few days worth of the medication.
